Council meeting lasted 90 minutes and did not take any action on
Gaza
The Security Council held the United Nations held an emergency meeting closed on Wednesday evening to discuss the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, but no action was taken. According to "Reuters".

The United Nations said in a second statement that he had discussed with Mursi "the need to prevent any further deterioration."
The White House said that U.S. President Barack Obama spoke to Netanyahu and President Mursi and stressed U.S. support for Israel's right to self-defense in the light of rocket attacks from Gaza.
The statement said the White House "president urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to make every effort to avoid civilian casualties. And the two agreed that Hamas must stop its attacks on Israel to prevent the escalation of the situation."
The statement added, saying "The President also spoke to Egyptian President Mursi Given the key role of Egypt in maintaining regional security. President Obama condemned the conversation rocket fire from Gaza into Israel and reiterated Israel's right to self-defense."
